The 32BJ Training Fund is a joint labor-management partnership that offers training to eligible participants at no cost. The fund is comprised of the Realty Advisory Board (RAB), contributing employers, and the 32BJ SEIU property services workers union. The RAB is a multi-employer association that negotiates contracts between 32BJ SEIU and property service employers throughout the New York Metropolitan Area. 32BJ SEIU is the largest union of property service workers in the U.S. and has over 120,000 members concentrated mainly in the North East, but with members as far south as Florida.
The 32BJ Training Fund has over 40 years of experience delivering educational services to 32BJ SEIU members. Over 10,000 members enroll in over 1,500 courses each year. In 2012 we awarded over 700 certificates and diplomas. We offer a wide variety of classes - from academic, computer, to green, to security, and industrial classes designed specifically for building service workers. These courses are developed with input from building owners and union members to give them the skills they need to succeed.
Our commitment to providing our members with the skills they need to execute their jobs effectively and safely is ongoing. Our state of the art facility has numerous industry classrooms outfitted with interactive SMART Boards. The purpose of this technology is to engage the students more directly, improving learning and retention rates. Our instructors are trained in the use of this technology and will use it to enhance the 32BJ Training Fund's already effective program.
