Three Steps to Registering Online
- Login to this website
- Search the Online Course Catalog
- Enroll in an Online Course
1. Login to this website
All eligible members of 32BJ already have accounts on our website. Your Login ID is your first initial + full last name + the last four digits of your Social Security number. For example: John Smith with a Social Security number of 123-45-6789 would format his username: jsmith6789
Your password is “Password1” with the first letter capitalized, all other letters lower case, and the numeral “1”. Note that the first time you login to our site you will be prompted to change your password. Please call us at 212-388-3701 if you have any trouble logging in.
2. Search the Online Course Catalog
Now that you’re logged in, let’s take a look at where we can find our courses. On the gray menu bar of this website (top of the page) you'll see an option for COURSES.
Click on the COURSES button and you will be taken to the course search page. On the course search page you can find any course that the Training Fund offers.
The course search tool consists of an empty box for searching key words, several drop down menus, and check boxes for the days of the week that you are free to take classes.
In order to search for online classes, you will need to switch the “Type” dropdown menu from “Classroom” to “eLearning”. You can then type the name of the course you want to take into the “Keyword(s)” field and click the “SEARCH” button.
Your results will show up below the search tool. Once you see the course you want, click directly on the course title. You will be taken to the webpage for that course.
3. Enroll in an Online Course
Once you are viewing the course page, you will see the name of the course at the top. Then in a grey box, a description of the course. In a second box, information about the course and any necessary pre-requisite class. Finally, there is a green “Enroll” button. If you click the “Enroll” button, the screen will refresh and there will be two new buttons.
The button on the left marked “Unenroll” will let you unenroll if you have clicked the “Enroll” button by accident. The “Access Course” button will bring you to the course viewer.
The course viewer features a screen on the left side and a progress tracker on the right side. The screen will have a button called “START LEARNING NOW” and if you press it the course video will begin. The progress tracker will show you your progress on individual chapters and allow you to see how far you have left to go. If you have started a chapter, you should see a green check mark on that chapter. If you have completed a chapter, you should see a gray check mark on that chapter. Once all chapters have a gray check mark, and any test or quizzes are complete, you will have completed the course.
Don’t forget! Online courses work best on a computer using Google Chrome without a pop-up blocker enabled. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee Online course performance or accessibility on mobile phones or tablets.
IMPORTANT: There is some background information on how our online courses work, so the first course that all members have to take is called ONLINE: INTRODUCTION TO ONLINE COURSES. This course takes about three minutes to complete. Once you have finished this course the system will allow you to take all of our other online courses.
